Wind Part 2

Standard

When the wind blows down the chimney

Knocks on the flue

I’ll blow your house down

It reminds me of

Barring the doors and windows

Peering out through cracks

While she banked the fire and kept

A watchful eye on the hearth

And the wolves watched from the pine woods

Not howling, just listening to the wind

And waiting for our fire to go out.
