National Poetry Writing Month – 4/10

Standard

STOP

Letting them guilt trip you

It’s not your fault what happened

It’s also not your fault

That they never learned

To take responsibility

For their own mistakes.

We all have to learn that

To say “It was my fault”

To say “I’m sorry”

To look at ourselves in the mirror

And know we’re imperfect

Stop

Carrying their guilt for them.
