National Poetry Writing Month – 4/13

Standard

How can they expect us to forgive
-those who don’t ask for forgiveness
-those who don’t do anything to make right the hurt
-those who refuse to admit to harm they’ve done
-those who don’t even believe they ruined our lives?

I think it’s obscene
Another stone to finally break our backs
To tell us this lie
That we are the ones continuing the pain
If we don’t forgive.
