National Poetry Writing Month – 4/21 (2)

Standard

I Can’t See You, You Can’t See Me

Reality will always intrude
Even into your blanket fort
Make demands
Take away your security
Even require you
To pay attention to
That real world out there
Problems that aren’t yours
Problems you want to pretend
Don’t exist
Will grow up around your fortress
When you come out
Better brace yourself.
